Organization of a Training Program in Japan for delegates from Cote d’Ivoire to encourage the production of local rice in Cote d’Ivoire

NTCI has been involved in the implementation of the “Local Rice Promotion Project in Côte d'Ivoire (PRORIL)” Project since 2014. Five officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) and the Rice Sector Development Agency (ADERIZ) were invited to Japan from August 21 to September 2 of 2019 to observe the Japanese methods and initiatives of promoting local rice. The PROFIL Project is financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) within the framework of Japan-Cote D’Ivoire ODA Bilateral Cooperation. Special audience with the President of Guinea and the second Vice-President of Burundi as appointed envoy representing the Public-Private Partnership Program at TICAD VII

 

On August 29 of 2019, Mr Mori, President of NTCI was granted an audience with H.E. Professor Alpha Condé, the President of the Republic of Guinea at the TICAD VII Conference held in Japan and expressed his sincere gratitude for the special occasion. Mr Nagai, formerly appointed as Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture in Guinea was also given the opportunity to explain the merits of using Japanese technology to promote rice production in Guinea. In return, President Condé expressed his enthusiasm to see further cooperation from Japan in the agricultural sector including rice farming.

On August 31 of 2019, Mr Mori was also granted a special audience with H.E. Dr. Joseph Butore, the second Vice President of the Republic of Burundi at the TICAD VII Conference. Likewise, Mr Nagai was given the occasion to evoke NTCI’s involvement in the Community Development Project in Gitega Province in 2011 and the positive impact on the country. Recalling that agriculture is the vital element in the national development of his country, Mr Butore hopes to see continuous support from Japan in the sector.

Launching of One-Village-One-Product (OVOP) Project in Argentina

The OVOP Movement was a successful economic strategy used in Japan to promote regional development in the seventies. The OVOP concept has also proven its success in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Ecuador etc. NTCI has been appointed by JICA to oversee the implementation of this approach in Argentina. The Project was launched on July 5 of 2019 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina and NTCI was represented by the Project Manager, Mr Kotaro Mizoguchi. NTCI received a certificate of appreciation from the Japanese Association for Arid Land Studies

NTC International Co., Ltd. received a certificate of appreciation from the Japanese Association for Arid Land Studies in “the ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the Japanese Association for Arid Land Studies” on May 25, 2019. The certificate of appreciation is for our achievement which contributed to the development of the association for a long time.

Presentation at the 16th Spring Conference of the Japan Evaluation Society.

Mr. Kuwahara made a presentation in the session of “Policy-Level ODA Evaluation” at the 16th Spring Conference of the Japan Evaluation Society.
The title of presentation is ‘Evaluation from Diplomatic Viewpoints of Third Party Evaluation by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan -A Case of “An Evaluation of Japan’s ODA to the Republic of Angola”- '.

Revitalizing the agriculture sector in Iitate village, Fukushima prefecture:
Participation in on-field demonstration sessions conducted by Dr. Masaru MIZOGUCHI, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Tokyo.
Dr. MIZOGUCHI is carrying out studies on the “Development of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in farm management system that enhances production of safe agricultural and livestock produce.” 
As part of our effort to help revitalize agriculture in Fukushima Prefecture after the Earthquake Disaster in 2011 on the East Coast of Japan, the company is assisting Dr Mizoguchi in his research in this field.
